ETE 2025
2nd Workshop on Emerging Technologies for Energy
Shaping a Sustainable Future
Sustainable energy stands at the core of the global transition towards a low-carbon, circular and resilient economy. Building on the success of the first edition held in Porto in 2017, the 2nd Workshop on Emerging Technologies for Energy – ETE 2025 will bring together the scientific, technological, and industrial communities to discuss the latest breakthroughs, innovation trends, and challenges in emerging energy technologies to shape a more sustainable future.
Grounded in the global energy transition and the pursuit of climate neutrality, the workshop will highlight innovation pathways towards sustainable energy systems and provide a forum for discussing the latest advances in high-performance materials, scalable processes guided by eco-design principles, and technologies for efficient energy harvesting, conversion, storage, and management. ETE 2025 also aims to strengthen collaboration between academia, technology transfer centers and industry, fostering new partnerships and networks.
The programme will feature plenary and keynote lectures by leading experts from academia and industry, covering the fields of Energy Harvesting, Bioenergy and Green Fuels, Electrochemical Energy Conversion, Electrochemical Energy Storage, Fuel Cells and Electrolysers, Wearable, Flexible and Printable Electronics, High-Performance Energy Materials, Eco-Design, and Circular Manufacturing. The workshop will also explore artificial intelligence, digital tools, and life-cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies as decision-making frameworks to accelerate materials discovery, optimize performance, and support environmental assessment and sustainability analysis.
There will also be Pitch presentations and Poster sessions for PhD and master’s students, as well as for early-career researchers engaged in these thematic areas.
We particularly encourage the participation of Students and Young Researchers working on these fields.
The workshop will be held in the vibrant city of Porto, Portugal, from 15th to 16th of December, at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto.
Further details regarding the venue, detailed programme, and registration process will be announced shortly.
